Mandala Airlines is the airline of
Indonesia. Mandala is a 40-year-old national carrier which has been
purchased by Indigo Partners and Cardig International in 2006. Purchase
Mandala is based on the consideration that potential can be achieved
related to the aviation business growth opportunities in the third
world, after China and India. With a larger domestic market of India,
the investment through the Mandala, provides opportunities for Mandala
to take advantage of an extensive aviation route network with a strong
national brand and lets make the Mandala as a modern airline that offers
security, reliable, and affordable.
In 2007, Mandala has ordered 30 new
Airbus aircraft worth 2.3 billion U.S. dollars, Mandala managed
internationally experienced management team. Mandala also has suspended
the use of all aircraft Boeingnya and establish cooperation with
Singapore Airlines Engineering Company for aircraft maintenance.

Mandala has undergone the IOSA audit in order to obtain certification
from IATA. In addition, Mandala also has to undergo an audit of Airbus,
Boeing and a number of companies in the oil field which has given
approval to fly with Mandala. Due to the debt problem, the airline
stopped operating (temporary) on January 12, 2011. It was reported that
the airline asked for rescheduling of debt payments to the Central
Jakarta Commercial Court.
Mandala apply the one-single
aircraft policy (policy operation of one type of aircraft), that only by
operating the Airbus fleet. On January 16, 2009, Mandala had grounded
its entire fleet of Boeing and began to implement the operation policy
of a single type of aircraft. Currently, the Mandala operate aircraft
type Airbus A320 with seat capacity of 180 and A319 aircraft with a
